Daggers pierce into my heart Every time you reveal a card White lies become gray Always in the way Make me go insane Truth hurts but that wanes Honesty can't be so hard Empathy only goes so far White lies become gray Always in the way Make me go insane Truth hurts but that wanes Haunting present success Ghosts taunt me Light heals any distress Cleansing debris

The house is torn The floors are gone The weeds have grown The seeds have flown Everywhere I go Another footstep falls Knock on my door I realize I'll never see No time to spare Come back to me Statements of intention and approaches And the interest fades it all cascades it's broken And I try to make it up but all the words were mangled Tangled up intention with a token of regret Too big to fail The lion's tail Don't take that call Don't take that fall Everywhere I go It's the same old scene Staring at me I realize I'll never see No time to spare Come back to me Statements of intention and approaches And the interest fades it all cascades it's broken And I try to make it up but all the words were mangled Tangled up intention with a token of regret

Cowboy 02:43
Aching, anxious, thunderstruck Wondering how to ease this Shaking, blazing, craving luck I just need to feed this Cannot get unstuck And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To make cheap love with fire And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To violate the rules Floating high, electric zing Reveling in leisure Twitching, hazy, in full swing Practically in seizure Perfect little fling. And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To make cheap love with fire And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To make me feel renewed I'm carried on a wave of sound That spins and twirls my head around With everything in disarray I scream as ecstasy replaces gray And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To make cheap love with fire And I found that I need a cowboy To fuel my heart's desire And I found that I need a cowboy To blissfully break through

Let It Go 02:35
I'm madder than you'll ever know Sadder than I'll ever show It's not that I'm shy to tell you why It's just that I'm scared to let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go oh oh oh Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go oh oh oh You tell me I need to take a stand On the edge of a cliff I feel your hand Pushing on me to get in the flow It's just that I'm scared to let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go oh oh oh Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go oh oh oh I've got a solution To all this confusion Throw out the pollution Spinning my revolution I'm madder than you'll ever know Sadder than I'll ever show It's not that I'm shy to tell you why It's just that I'm scared to let it go

Elegy 03:38
Fast cars and platinum hair Bad boy takes every dare Breaking hearts between my thighs Reveling in causing sighs Young love No shame Come back again Don't die alone Regretting hope Don't keep on chasing dragons So far from home Poignant music that you played Songs that linger in my brain Breaking hearts with serenades So much brilliance gone to waste Big heart Gone away Sad refrain Don't die alone Regretting hope Don't keep on chasing dragons So far from home Unemployed and going gray Beer gut won't go away Breaking hearts consuming fire Can't get monkey to expire Lost grace Old pain Can't explain Don't die alone Regretting hope Don't keep on chasing dragons So far from home

about

Bluster's debut EP.

Catharsis drove much of the songwriting. Joy drove the rest. Initial figments serenaded a trusty companion who lay at our feet and patiently listened; this album is dedicated to him. The bracing winds of an Antarctic-worthy winter helped hone subsequent parts despite stiff fingers from the drafts. Musty air bouncing off of damp, limestone walls influenced the last bits. We hope you enjoy it.

Recorded and mixed by Alex Meza at Bluster's secret underground headquarters.

about

Bluster Chicago, Illinois

Described as "the Pixies meet the Raconteurs with Kim Gordon's cousin", Bluster channels punk, garage, and indie sounds of the 90s and 80s such as Hüsker Dü, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, the Minutemen, and so many other similar bands from those eras. We also have a soft spot for Led-Zeppelin-esque classic rock and occasionally a bit of big-band jazz and vintage country. ... more
